A shattered old mother who came to spend a few days with his young son faced the worst horror of her life when she got brutally raped by him. The old woman’s son Shukun Singh, who works as a painter in buildings, suffers from suspected sexual perversion, the family reveals.
Describing the horror to The Indian Express, the 60-year-old lady said, “Woh galat kia hamare saath. Humne use kaha tum hamar ladka ho. Tum aisa mat karo. Hum tumko paida kari hoon lekin usne kuch nahi suna. Who iska parinaam bhugtega. Bhagwaan maaf nahi karega use”.
(He did wrong with me. I told him I am your son, I gave birth to you. Don’t do this to me but he didn’t hear a word. He will pay for this. God will not leave him)
“On 13th night I was returning from my younger daughter’s house with my him (accused) in an auto rickshaw. When we were passing from an area where there were bushes on either sides and a railway track, he asked me to get down there. When I asked why did he take this unfamiliar road, he started walking into the bushes. After a few minutes he asked me to come inside the bushes but I questioned him again,” she said
She added, “When I went there, he held my neck tight and threw me on the ground. He tied my face and tore my clothes. He was under influence of some drug or alcohol”.
After a pause the old woman said, “He raped me and ran away from there. I took help of a passer by and rushed to my daughter’s house. After his arrest, he told police that he was drunk and he made a mistake. Is this a mistake”.
The old woman works as an aaya (cleaner) in a municipal school in Jamu village of Kanpur zilla of Uttar Pradesh. She earns Rs. 1000 a month for her living.
Shukun and his three sisters were born in this village and migrated to Gujarat for work almost 20 years back. His three sisters now married and settled in Ahmedabad and Surat had cut of all ties from him when he was 17 years old and he had allegedly committed his first crime.
The man was first arrested in a case of theft twelve years back in Ahmedabad. Two of his sisters have faced sexual assault from him ten years back but their mother didn’t let them complaint against him.
Shukun’s sister said, “When my mother reached home, she was shivering like a leaf. We though she has a got a fit. She would neither drink or eat. After a few minutes, she told me that Shukun raped her. Disgusted with the scar he left on my mother, I decided to complain this time and called police”.
She added, “He is sexually sick, he’s a pervert. He tried to molest me at my home in Viratnagar when he moved to Ahmedabad but I pushed him on other side and threw him out of me house. After that we cut off. When I told my elder sister, she told me she had faced similar experience with him”.
Shukun’s sisters stated that since his teenage he had developed addiction for ganja and charas. They claimed that he has “wrong connections” in Vatva and become a ‘goon’after coming to Ahmedabad. He had also tried to rape a five-year-old girl, however, he was beaten up by the girl’s family members.
His sister also stated that in front of the Vatva police he allegedly threatened to kill her and old woman as soon as he comes out of the jail.
She added, “He abused me in front of the police officers and said that once he is out of jail, he will rape my daughters and kill that buddhi (he address his mother like this). A month back he had abducted and brought an 18-year-old girl at his home who was pregnant and a few days before this incident (rape) that girl is also mysteriously missing. We have informed police about that too”.
Vatva Inspector PB Rana who has been interrogating him said, “We were suspecting that he suffers from sexual perversion and now his sisters are also saying that. The doctors are yet to perform all tests on him to see if medically also he is sexually pervert. The day we arrested him he cried and accepted his crime but when he was questioned for reasons behind it he claimed he was not in his senses”.
