HC rejects Arun Gawli’s bail plea in Jamsandikar murder case

The Bombay High Court rejected the bail application of gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli in a Shiv Sena corporator's murder case.

The Bombay High Court rejected the bail application of gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli in a Shiv Sena corporator’s murder case.

Justices R S Mohite rejected Gawli’s bail plea,public prosecutor Ajay Gadkari said.

Gawli is accused of accepting the ‘contract’ to kill Kamlakar Jamsandikar,a Sena corporator,who was murdered in 2007.

The contract was allegedly given by Sahebrao Bhintade and Bala Surve,who were Jamsandikar’s rivals in construction business as well as in the local politics.

Gawli was arrested in April last year and has been booked under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MACOCA) in this case.

The bail pleas of Bhintade and Surve too were rejected.
