A man allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train,police said on Friday.

Jitendra committed suicide near Prithvinath gate in the city yesterday after lodging an FIR against Rinku for allegedly running away with his sister,incharge of police outpost at Kedarnagar/Prithvinath gate,Govind Singh said.

In another incident,a 14-year-old girl,Surabhi,tried to commit suicide by pouring kerosene and setting herself on fire in her house yesterday.

She was admitted to hospital with multiple burn injuries,police said .

According to Surabhi’s father,she was unable to bear the repeated taunts of her aunt,Guddi,who accused Surabhi of stealing her gold bangles.
