A special court in Ghaziabad granted permission to CBI to conduct narco analysis test on Rajesh and Nupur Talwar — parents of 14-year-old Aarushi who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her Noida residence less than two years ago.
Special Judicial Magistrate Preeti Singh granted the permission on an application filed by CBI about two weeks back.
Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj were found murdered in her Noida house on May 16,2008.
The CBI,which has re-constituted its entire investigating team to probe the case, had earlier taken a written permission from the Talwars for conducting the tests on them.
Narco analysis involves psychotherapy which is conducted while the patient is deeply sedated with medication so that inhibitions are reduced and responses more truthful.
Incidentally,Rajesh, who was arrested by the Noida police, was let off after the CBI gave him a clean chit.
Earlier,Rajesh had said,”Last year too,we had given our consent for narco test but the CBI did brain mapping and lie detector tests. After that they said narco test was not needed. Now they want it again and we have no problems with that.”
Though a date for the narco analysis has not been fixed, the tests are likely to be conducted very soon,CBI sources said.
Last year, the Talwars were taken to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Gandhinagar,Gujarat, for carrying out various tests.
The sources said they are likely to be taken to the same centre again. Nupur had said,”CBI has again decided that they wish to put us through narco tests. The agency claims it is in the interest of justice for Aarushi that we have to undergo this test and help in getting her culprit caught.”
