Jung Bahadur Singh was general secretary in the recently dissolved UP Congress Committee.
Daddan’s associate who was murdered has been identified as Suresh Pandey; the other associate is named Deshraj.

Amethi Superintendent of Police Heera Lal said preliminary investigations have revealed that the assailants, who were in a Bolero and a Maruti Swift, intercepted Daddan’s Qualis at Raniganj area and fired indiscriminately at them. Daddan and Suresh died on the spot.

The SP also said they have yet to find out if Daddan or his associates were carrying any firearm.
There are reports that Daddan had some criminal cases registered against him. Police are reportedly exploring the enmity angle that could have led to the fatal attack on Daddan. Additional SP, Amethi, Munna Lal, too, said they have no information if the victims were carrying any weapon.

Circle Officer, Musafirkhan, Sumit Shukla said Suresh was driving the Qualis while Daddan was sitting beside him. Daddan’s body was found inside the vehicle while Suresh’s was lying outside. He said Deshraj would be questioned soon.

Shukla said Daddan was on way home at Jamo area of the city when the incident took place.

Amethi district president of Congress Yogendra Mishra confirmed that Jung Bahadur Singh was general secretary in the recently dissolved UPCC. He added that Daddan had no association with the party.
