A man was killed and two others were injured when a clash broke out between rival groups resorted to indiscriminate firing at Pakilpar village in Bihar’s Madhepura district on Thursday.
The incident took place when Madhav Sahni and Malik Yadav and their men clashed with each other. Sahni (45) sustained a bullet injury and died on the spot,Superintendent of Police (SP) Saurabh Kumar Sah said.
Two supporters of Sahni also sustained bullet injuries and were taken to hospital.
Both Sahni and Yadav are said to have a criminal background,and the clash took place in the backdrop of a scuffle between their children at a school during the national tricolour hoisting function earlier in the day,Sah said.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against 17 persons of both the groups.
Fifteen cartridges have been recovered from the spot.
