“On July 27, Puneet told Ruhi that the promised bribe of Rs 4 lakh has been delivered at his Dwarka residence by Reshabh. Ruhi communicated it to Manjeet. Ruhi also told Manjeet that she would collect the amount and deliver it to him on Friday,” the FIR alleged.
Four persons, including two joint director-ranked officers posted in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and an associate of Alok Industries, have been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation, in connection with alleged bribery of Rs 3 lakh.
“We have arrested four persons, identified as Manjit Singh, a joint director, Ruhi Arora, a senior technical assistant – both posted at Office of the Director General (Corporate Affairs) in Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Puneet Duggal, a joint director, who is presently posted as Official Liquidator at Corporate Bhawan in Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and Reshabh Raizada, an associate of M/s Alok Industries,” said an CBI spokesperson.
The FIR was also registered against the Alok Industries. “Searches were conducted in Delhi, Gurugram and Chennai in the premises of the accused which led to the recovery of cash of Rs 59.80 lakh (approximately), several incriminating documents and digital evidences,” the CBI said in a statement.
“An information has been received through reliable source that Manjit in conspiracy with Puneet, Ruhi, Reshabh and other persons are indulging in corrupt and illegal activities…in pursuance of the conspiracy, they are taking bribe from the private persons for showing favour in the files pertaining to the investigation made by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs for adopting illegal and unethical business activities,” the FIR alleged.
The FIR further states, “Reshabh was in regular contact with Puneet fir pursuing for favourable settlement of a pending matter of M/s Alok Industries with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, in lieu of undue advantage. Reshabh persuaded Puneet to conclude the matter favourably and dispatch it for further clearance to the Director General’s office.”
“Information further revealed that Puneet Duggal assured him that he will conclude the matter at the earliest. Information also revealed that Reshabh delivered the bribe amount to Puneet at Ahmedabad earlier,” the CBI FIR alleged.
According to the FIR, the matter then came under consideration of the office of Director General, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, where the file was marked to Manjit for examination. “Ruhi also started tracking the file and started giving updates to Reshabh through Duggal. On the instructions of Puneet, Ruhi persuaded Manjeet to help Reshabh in the matter and assured the delivery of a bribe for such a favour,” the FIR states.

The agency had booked them on Friday for allegedly indulging in corrupt and illegal activities and, in pursuance of a conspiracy, taking bribe from the private person for showing favour in the files of Alok Industries pertaining to the investigation being made by the ministry for adopting illegal and unethical business activities.
