Congress candidate to EC: Odisha Gov campaigning for daughter-in-law

Congress’s Jamshedpur East candidate Ajoy Kumar wrote to CEC Rajiv Kumar Wednesday alleging that Odisha Governor Raghubar Das was “campaigning for his daughter-in-law Purnima Das who is contesting from Jamshedpur East”.

“Raguwar Das, Governor of Odisha… has been found campaigning for his daughter-in-law, Purnima Das, who is contesting from 48. Jamshedpur East, a seat the Odisha governor himself held five times on a BJP ticket,” the letter said.

He said that Das “involving himself in electioneering while holding a gubernatorial post is a clear violation of the Constitution”. “This blatant disregard of the constitutional chair and its responsibilities is totally unacceptable in all cases,” he said.
