CBI arrests principal, vice-principal of Jharkhand school in NEET-UG leak case

(Express photo) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Friday arrested the principal and vice-principal of Jharkhand’s Oasis School, where investigators suspect the alleged leak in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) occurred.
The agency arrested Dr Ehsanul Haque, the principal of the school, and Imtiaz Alam, vice-principal and Hazaribagh district coordinator for NEET-UG designated by the National Testing Agency.
“They will be produced before the appropriate court in Patna within 24 hours,” a source in CBI said. However, there’s no clarity yet on the grounds of the arrest, with the source only saying: “It will be conveyed to the concerned court.”
When The Indian Express visited the Hazaribagh school earlier this week, Haque had said that a digital lock on two boxes containing question papers did not open at 1.15 pm on May 5 — the day of the exam — as it was supposed to, because of which they had to use a cutter.
