BJP Founding Day Live Updates: PM Modi to address BJP workers at 10 am.

BJP Founding Day Updates: From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Kutch to Kohima, BJP has been strengthening the resolve of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ (One India, Great India), Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi said while addressing the party’s workers, MPs and MLAs on the occasion of its 42nd foundation day on Wednesday. In a barely-veiled dig at the Opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that family-led parties have never allowed the youth of the country to progress. “They have always been betrayed,” PM Modi said. “And today we should be proud that today BJP is the only party which is alerting the country of this problem.”

This year’s foundation day is important for three reasons, PM Modi said. “The first is that it coincides with the country’s 75th year of independence,” he explained. “The second reason is the rapidly changing global conditions, the changing global order,” he added. “The third reason is equally important.  A few weeks ago, the double engine governments of the BJP have returned in four states.”

The party has several events planned through the week, concluding with the commemoration of Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14. Currently the largest political party in India, both in terms of representation in parliament, and in terms of party membership, the BJP has come a long way since its origins in the early 1980s.

A 'Shobha Yatra' (procession) of BJP led by its president J P Nadda was taken out on Wednesday in central Delhi's Rajendra Nagar Assembly constituency, where bypoll is due, on the party's foundation day.

CPI(M) cannot bring down Modi govt even if it contests along with Cong: Kerala BJP

As the CPI(M)'s Party Congress stressed on the need for a broader secular alliance against the BJP, the saffron party's Kerala unit on Wednesday said the Marxist party's desire to bring down the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government will not materialise even if they join hands with the Congress during general elections.

The BJP has become the largest political party in the world with 301 seats in Lok Sabha and 101 seats in Rajya Sabha but the Left parties, which once had a prominent presence in the country, have shrunk just to Kerala, party state chief K Surendran said here. He was speaking at a function held at the BJP's state headquarters in connection with the party's 42nd foundation day celebrations.

The CPI(M) would not be able to defeat the BJP in elections (at the national level) even if they contest joining hands with the Congress, he said. (PTI)

On BJP foundation day, Modi says it stands for 'rashtravad', rivals for 'parivarvad'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asserted that the BJP is dedicated to "rashtra bhakti" while its rivals stand for "parivar bhakti", and said every BJP member should be proud that the party made it an electoral issue and succeeded in convincing people of the dangers of dynastic politics.

Addressing BJP workers on the party's 42nd foundation day, he said the parties dedicated to further family rule have little regard for constitutional norms and cover up corruption and misdeeds of each other even though they may be active in different states.

They did not allow the country's young talent to come up and betrayed them, he said, without naming any party. Modi also asserted that the BJP governments at the Centre and states have worked to take welfare schemes to every beneficiary without any discrimination and biases, reflecting the motto of "sabka saath, sabka vikas". How the BJP became every Indian’s party

The Bharatiya Janata Party is celebrating its 42nd Foundation Day on April 6. The journey from the Jana Sangh to the BJP has been a remarkable one, where the party and its leaders followed the line that defines nationalism, national integration, democratic values, non-partisanship, etc. Staying steadfast to its ideology and principles, the BJP has grown from strength to strength.

We draw our inspiration from Deendayal Upadhyay’s philosophy and ideologies of “Integral Humanism” and “Antyodaya” (welfare of the poorest). Our philosophy is also based on the idea of “cultural nationalism” propagated by Syama Prasad Mookerjee. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government and party are committed to “sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas, sabka prayas”.

All BJP governments work under the pledge to ensure the progress and well-being of all sections of society, with no discrimination or favouritism. The party’s guiding principle is the upliftment and empowerment of the poor.

BJP’s foundation day: Brief history of the achievements and failures of the party

The party that is currently the largest political party in India, both in terms of representation in parliament, and in terms of party membership, has come a long way since its origins in the early 1980s. Overcoming several obstacles and failures, the BJP has at present formed a robust footing in the Indian political scenario, and significantly overturned the ideological framework that drove India’s national and international policies for a long time.

While the BJP was formed on April 6, 1980, its ideological origins can be dated back to 1951 when Congress politician Shyama Prasad Mukherjee broke away from Nehru’s leadership to form the Bhartiya Jana Sangh (BJS). The party was formed in collaboration with the Hindu nationalist organisation, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), in opposition to the political practices of the Congress party. The mandate of the BJP was the preservation of Hindu identity and culture. Founded at a time when the Indian National Congress was practically the face of Indian politics, the BJS could barely be successful in its initial years since. In the 1952 general elections, the BJS could win only 3 Lok Sabha seats.
