(Source: FB/mfrahim.com) Calling the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill a “stigma and a black chapter for the largest democracy of the world”, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Friday sought an urgent appointment with the President Droupadi Murmu to express their concern before she gave her assent to the Bill.
The Board also called the “conduct” of BJP allies and their leaders, particularly Nitish Kumar (JDU), Chandrababu Naidu (TDP), Chirag Paswan (LJP) and Jayant Chaudhary (RLD) as “reprehensible”, and said they have “betrayed Muslims, which would be never forgiven”.
AIMPLB general secretary Muhammad Fazlur Raheem Mujaddidi said in a statement, “The Muslims who are associated with these parties should reconsider their status. What would be their place after this betrayal? Which course should they follow as Muslims?”
