Bihar: 9 of a family drown after van falls into Ganga

The incident took place at around 7 am when 15 persons were travelling in the van to Danapur sub-division.

Nine members of an extended family drowned on Friday morning after the pick-up van they were travelling in fell into the Ganga at Danapur near Patna.

The incident took place at around 7 am when 15 persons were travelling in the van to Danapur sub-division. As the van got on to a pontoon bridge to cross the Ganga, it lost balance and fell into the river.

Patna District Magistrate Chandrashelhar Singh said, “Nine bodies have been taken out from the river by divers.”
