Ayodhya verdict: RSS, Muslim leaders meet, resolve to maintain peace

Sources said that the meeting, that went on for several hours, focused on three main issues — instant triple talaq, the upcoming Ayodhya verdict, and the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

With the Supreme Court likely to pass a verdict in the Ayodhya case this month, senior RSS functionaries held a closed-door dialogue with Muslim leaders from 54 areas across 22 states with the purpose of being vigilant against attempts to create “bhram, bhay, bhadkaw (diversion, fear, provocation)”.

Sources said that the meeting resolved to reach out to social and religious intelligentsia of the minority community in at least 100 places over the next one week to sensitise about the need to maintain peace and harmony, regardless of the outcome in the Supreme Court, and to watch out against any attempts at provocation.
