The Delhi Police’s Crime Branch has arrested underworld don Ejaz Lakdawala’s North India based-handler earlier this week from Mukarba Chowk.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said they received information that Lakadawala’s handler was based in western UP.
“Specific information was received on March 18 that Yousuf would come to Mukarba Chowk to meet his accomplice. Acting on this information, a trap was laid under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police K P S Malhotra and the handler was arrested. A pistol along with cartridges were also recovered from his possession and a case was registered against him at Crime Branch police station,” he added.
After sustained interrogation, Yousuf told police that he was operating as a drug trafficker and gunrunner since 2005.
“Nearly one year ago, Yousuf came in contact with Lakdawala’s henchmen in Mumbai and later he was introduced to Lakdawala.
Initially, Yousuf was in contact with Lakdawala through his henchmen in Mumbai, but later he started talking to him directly through Voice over Internet Protocol Calling (VOIP) and several international numbers of different countries,” Yadav said.
