Ahmedabad police gives awards to short films raising awareness on traffic rules
A total of 707 registrations were received in this competition, out of which 458 short films were submitted in the stipulated deadline.

The Ahmedabad City Police on Tuesday awarded the winners of its traffic short film making competition, which was held with an aim to spread more awareness about traffic laws and safety among the public.
The competition was organised in collaboration with Traffic Trust. A total of 707 registrations were received in this competition, out of which 458 short films were submitted in the stipulated deadline.
The panel of judges first shortlisted the top 53 short films earlier this year before judging the 15 best entries and then the final 10, which received prizes.
The subjects of these short films revolved around driving without helmet, wrong-side driving, “triple riding”, using a mobile phone while driving, driving without seat belt, driving at high speed, disobeying traffic signals, etc.
Pradip Vaghela’s entry “Bas be minute (just two minutes)” was adjudged the best short film and was awarded Rs 2 lakh.
This was followed by Sailesh R Boghani’s “Yeh toh samajhdaar hai, par aap??? (They are intelligent, what about you?)”, which received an award of Rs 1.5 lakh, and “Joker” by Vipul Shah that took the third place with an award of Rs 1 lakh.
The other seven entries in the top 10 received appreciation certificates. The awards were presented by the Minister of State (MoS), Home, Harsh Sanghavi and DGP Vikas Sahay.
