Mobile internet suspended in J&K’s Poonch and Rajouri after 3 found dead near encounter site

A day after three people were found dead near the Poonch encounter site, mobile internet services were suspended in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch and Rajouri districts on Saturday.

The Army personnel were killed on December 21 after militants attacked two of their vehicles near Topa Pir in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. It was near this site that three locals were found dead on Friday evening, with sources saying they were among seven-eight men picked up for questioning in connection with the terror attack.

Sources said that senior civil, police and Army officers, including the Poonch Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police, were in Bufliaz till late Friday night to look into the matter. The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, was also heading towards Poonch. There were also reports of protests in the area.
