On the occasion of World Environment Day, a 15-day campaign has been launched by Hind Bhartiyam Foundation in association with Kavi – The Poetry-Art Project, which aims at curbing Delhi’s pollution by making the city greener.
It kicked off with the planting of one sapling each by Tihar jail inmates. The inmates also gave a name to their plants – some even chose their child’s name. They also wrote a small note on what this responsibility meant to them.
As part of the campaign, DLF Promenade mall in Vasant Kunj also witnessed the free distribution of 20,000 saplings on June 5-6.
A first-of-its-kind initiative – Let’s Regain Delhi’s Fresh Air aims to involve the entire city in contributing to cut Delhi’s pollution by doing something as simple as adopting a plant.
