Loved Murder Mystery 2? Here Are The Iconic Locations Where The Movie Was Filmed
The Spitz family comes back in this sequel to Netflix's most-watched film of 2019 and features several locations worth visiting
Since an Adam Sandler film isn’t complete until it doubles as an Adam Sandler vacation, it’s no surprise that Murder Mystery 2 showcases a number of breathtaking places. Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler reprise their roles as a bickering crime-solving duo. The comedy follows two amateur detectives as they attend an incredible island wedding, only to have it ruined when someone is murdered and their friend is kidnapped. They are, without a doubt, on the case.

While the majority of 2019’s Murder Mystery was shot in Italy, the sequel got shot in Hawaii and France, both of which are picturesque locations. Discover these filming locations that will undoubtedly serve as major inspiration for your next trip
Oahu, Hawaii
Honolulu, Hawaii’s state capital, is situated on the beautiful island of Oahu in the Central Pacific and its many stunning beaches serve as a perfect setting for the chaos within the Spitz household. The majority of Murder Mystery 2’s scenes were shot in Hawaii and so was the first act of the film, in which the Maharajah having a lavish wedding, was shot. The wedding scenes were shot on the north shore of Oahu, in Hawaii, at the Kualoa Ranch which is a working cattle ranch and nature reserve that has been used in many Hollywood films, including Jurassic Park.

Lanikuhonua Lagoon, home to the Lanikuhonua Cultural Institute (a Hawaiian cultural center) near Ko Olina resort, was the setting for the beach scenes. This idyllic beach is hidden from view by tall trees and has breathtaking views of the water.
Paris, France
Soon after the Maharajah is kidnapped and is taken to Paris, the part of the movie that takes place there was filmed on location in and around Paris. In the movie, you’ll see real Parisian landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe, the Palais Garnier (Opera House), the Eiffel Tower, and the Love Locks Bridge (Pont des Arts). The exterior of Countess Sekou’s luxurious home was filmed at Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, a castle in southeast Paris that was built in the 17th century.

Some of the sequence at the Eiffel Tower was shot in the studio, while the majority was shot on location. The protagonists get together at the Le Jules Verne restaurant on the upper floor. The restaurant features French gourmet cuisine from chef Frédéric Anton and breathtaking views of the city. The scene in the Jules Verne restaurant was also filmed on a soundstage, in a slightly bigger copy of the famous fancy restaurant to make more room for stunts and filming. Set designers worked hard to make the copy look as much like the original as possible. They even bought the same chairs and tablecloths that were used at the original restaurant.
Banyan House, Hawaii

Sandler and Jennifer’s room at the hotel, which definitely took our breath away, was filmed in the same place as the house in the Magnum P.I. TV show. That movie was shot at the luxurious Banyan House in Hawaii. This 14,000-square-foot property with seven bedrooms is on 4369 Royal Place, just minutes from downtown Honolulu. This historic mansion was built in 1933. It is known for its unique architecture, which was inspired by Japan and includes a huge banyan tree in the front yard.
So, there you go. Murder Mystery 2 was shot on location in Hawaii and Paris, with just a touch of movie magic on top.
