The designers wrote about the outfit on Instagram. “The intricate shadow work embroidery, adorning each unique panel, showcases a mesmerising calendar of designs from our archives of couture down the years,” they added.The lehenga was accessorised with traditional jewellery, and Sara Ali Khan completed her look with a pair of high heels and minimalist makeup.

The sleeveless hooded gown was a sheer burgundy colour with a sequin-embellished linear pattern that crossed over along the waistline and continued to the end of the train. The gown was also sleeveless and featured a high neckline with a hood. She accessorised the look with a statement necklace and dangling earrings.

Elle Fanning cut a dramatic figure in a custom-made Alexander McQueen gown at the opening ceremony of the 76th Cannes Film Festival.
