What to watch on OTT: This year’s crowd-pullers, Saiyaara and Coolie are out on OTT. Here’s a list of recent releases.
Saiyaara
Netflix
Mohit Suri-directed Saiyaara, featuring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, which became one of the highest grossers of this year, will be available on Netflix from September 12. A sweeping love story about music and miracles, Saiyaara struck a chord with audiences with its portrayal of love tested by time and fate. The film revolves around Krish, the passionate musician, and Vaani, the lyricist fighting a cruel twist of fate. The romantic saga was instrumental in drawing the audience in hordes to theaters.
Coolie
Prime Video
The action thriller, headlined by Rajinikanth and written-directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is streaming on Prime Video. Set against the gritty backdrop of the Visakhapatnam docks, Coolie follows Deva, a former coolie turned rebel who uncovers a deadly smuggling syndicate while investigating his best friend’s suspicious death. The discovery of a secret electric chair, buried truths, and a hidden mole pulls him into a dangerous game of betrayal and unfinished business. As the fight for justice collides with the ghosts of his past, Deva’s journey becomes a relentless battle of justice, loyalty, survival, and rebellion. The film’s cast also features Nagarjuna, Soubin, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Rachitha Ram, and Pooja Hegde.
Mussolini: Son of the Century

BAFTA-winning British filmmaker Joe Wright’s new eight-part series based on the bestselling book by Antonio Scurati, Mussolini: Son of the Century stars Italian actor Luca Marinelli in the titular role of Benito Mussolini. “It is a scathing contemporary portrait of Mussolini and his political rise, from the formation of the irregular militia of the Fasces of Combat to the imposition of the most ferocious dictatorships Italy has ever known. The series traces the birth of Fascism in Italy vis-a-vis Mussolini’s ascent, offering innovative insights into the debate around the dictator’s legacy in Italy and abroad,” reads its synopsis. The first two episodes premiered on September 10, with subsequent episodes arriving weekly — new episodes every Friday.

The Girlfriend
Prime Video
The drama series The Girlfriend, starring Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke, is based on Michelle Frances’ novel of the same name. The Girlfriend follows Laura (Wright), a woman who seemingly has it all: a glittering career, a loving husband, and her precious son, Daniel. Her perfect life begins to unravel when Daniel brings home Cherry (Cooke), a girlfriend who changes everything. After a tense introduction, Laura becomes convinced Cherry is hiding something. The cast also features Waleed Zuaiter, Tayna Moodie, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Karen Henthorn, Anna Chancellor, Leo Suter, and Francesca Corney.
