SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR and Ram Charan’s RRR hits a ‘sixer’ at 69th National Film Awards: ‘Congratulations to the entire team’

The SS Rajamouli directorial RRR has bagged six awards at the 69th National Film Awards. The director and the film's lead actor Jr NTR took to Twitter to celebrate the big win.

It’s raining awards for SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Following its Best Original Song Oscar win, the movie has clinched six awards at the 69th National Film Awards. Right after the awards were announced, Rajamouli took to Twitter to congratulate the entire team of the film. RRR starred Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles.

Rajamouli wrote, “It’s a SIXERRR… Congratulations to the entire team of RRR on winning national awards. Thanks to the jury for the recognition..:) Bhairi, Prem Master, Peddanna, Srinivas Mohan garu, Solomon Master.”

Jr NTR also expressed his excitement on RRR winning big at the 69th National Film Awards. He wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations to my colleagues of #RRRMovie. @kaalabhairava7 you brought Komuram Bheemudo song to life with your voice. @mmkeeravaani garu, your background score for our film is the best and this award is another recognition for the same. Prem Master, every aching bone and muscle of our bodies earned you this award 😃. @srinivas_mohan , #KingSolomon, you have been impeccable. Last but not the least, congratulations @DVVMovies and @SSRajamouli on delivering such a monumental film.”

The six awards secured by RRR at the 69th National Awards are as follows:

Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment
Kaala Bhairava won the Best Male Playback Singer Award for the song “Komuram Bheemudo”
MM Keeravaani won the Best Music Director (Background Score) award
V Srinivas Mohan claimed the Best Special Effects award
Prem Rakshith won the Best Choreography award
King Soloman achieved the Best Action Direction award

RRR revolves around two fictional Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, their camaraderie, and their fight against British rule. Apart from Jr NTR and Ram Charan, the film starred Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris in pivotal roles.
