Telugu actor Prabhas is set to dazzle the silver screen with his upcoming film Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1, scheduled for release on December 22. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Salaar has already amassed an impressive Rs 3.58 crore through advance bookings, selling over 150,000 tickets.

The bulk of the tickets, a staggering 84,000, were sold in the Telugu-speaking region, followed by the Malayalam-speaking areas with over 42,000 tickets. In the Hindi-speaking region, Salaar secured more than 18,000 advance bookings.

However, the film faces stiff competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated Dunki, slated for release on December 21. The competition is apparent in their advance booking collections, with the SRK-starrer leading the way with Rs 4.46 crore in advance bookings. Both films opened their advance bookings on December 15. Shah Rukh Khan’s recent successes with Jawan and Pathaan give Dunki an edge, making it a formidable contender against Prabhas’s Salaar.

Directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films, Salaar boasts a stellar cast, including Prabhas Raju Uppalapati, Shruthi Haasan, and Madhu Guruswamy in pivotal roles. Earlier, Salaar producer Vijay Kirgandur discussed the clash with Dunki in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. Vijay mentioned that the team does not want things to be “ugly” and is actively engaging with exhibitors and distributors.

“When we have a solo release, the occupancy generally will be around 60-70%. Some screens will go to Aquaman but between Salaar and Dunki, we hope to get 50-50 screens in the best scenario. In such a scenario, if an occupancy of 90-100% is achieved, it’ll be a good result for both films,” he said.
