The popular cousins of Tollywood Rana Daggubati and Naga Chaitanya are teaming for a new project, as the former will be producing the film under Krishna Marimuthu’s direction.
Rana took to Twitter to announce the news on his birthday. “Another proud association: Producing my cousin @chay_akkineni ‘s next being directed by Krishna Marimuthu!! #NC14 more details soon!!” Rana tweeted.
Buzz is that Rana is planning to remake Malayalam blockbuster Bangalore Days in Telugu and that Chaitu has been brought onboard. The duo is also said to float a new production house. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard. It is also heard that the film was initially planned to be bankrolled by Suresh Babu of Suresh Productions but was later dropped off.
If reports are to be believed, this film will be the second remake of a Malayalam hit for Chaitanya who is already riding high on the success of Premam that turned out to be a decent hit at the Tollywood box office.
This won’t be the first production attempt by Rana as he had earlier produced Bommalata with Prakash Kovelamudi as director.
Hearing the news about Marimuthu being a part of the project, National Award winning filmmaker Krish expressed his joy congratulating the director.
“I’m so proud of u @krishnammuthu on directing @chay_akkineni on #NC14 in @RanaDaggubati production. U r d best!!!” Krish posted.
Meanwhile, Rana is gearing up for the release of the sequel of magnum opus Baahubali and another bi-lingual film Ghazi, both scheduled to release next year.
