Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela reveals the ‘biggest achievement’ of her life, says she froze her eggs as an ‘insurance policy’

Actor Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela has opened up on her decision to freeze her eggs and how that helped her take control of her body. She also shared that freezing her eggs is like an insurance policy.
Upasana, in an interview with social media influencer Masoom Minawala, shared how she feels that taking control of her body in her own hands was her ‘biggest achievement’. Upasana recalled the times when she allowed her emotions to rule over her body and she would regularly stress-eat. She would also lock herself in a room when she was depressed. “Now I have control over my body and my emotions. I think that is something that I have achieved and have control over now. I think I know how to deal with situations like this. If I am stressed, I can tell myself ‘hey you are stressed, deal with it, find a solution’.”

Upasana added that she avoids stress-eating which she used to do before and would have a huge impact on her body. She shared that she is very proud of herself.
Upasana also opened up on her successful career as an entrepreneur and has many times opened up about her decision to freeze her eggs. Upasana shed light on the fact that the process of egg-freeing is not difficult. “People think that it is only for fertility reasons that you freeze your eggs but I think you should do it to be secure. It is like an insurance policy. It is like the best insurance a woman can have for herself where she can decide when she wants to have a child on her own terms.”

Upasana Konidela went on to add despite having undergone egg freezing she had her child Klin Kaara Konidela, naturally and called the experience ‘amazing’.
In an earlier interview with ETimes, Upasana had said that she took this decision with the support of her family. “My grandfather was very keen, and we were working with a doctor back then who had advised me to do that. My family was also supportive of the decision. The eggs you freeze can be used later to create organs for your child and today, medical science can take it to the next level,” she had said.
