Kurangu Bommai to be remade in Telugu

Kurangu Bommai featuring Vidharth, director Bharathiraja, Elango Kumaravel and Delna Davis received amazing feedback from critics. Now the film is set to be remade in Telugu with the director Nithilan Swaminthan. The Telugu rights have been bagged by S Focuss.

Director Nithilan Swaminathan’s Kurangu Bommai which earned much appreciation is now all set to be remade in Telugu, according to the makers of the movie. S Focuss, who is currently producing actor-music director GV Prakash’s Kuppathu Raja, has bagged the Telugu rights for the thriller.

“S Focuss as a company is determined enough to support good films and talented technicians. The richness of any state reflects also in the creative side. Nithilan is a creative treasure and so is the film,” said producer M Saravanan of S Focuss. He further added that, “Good cinema has no linguistic barriers as it is basically a visual content. We are confident that the Telugu trade circles and as well as the Telugu audience will give immense support. ”

However, it is not clear if the movie will be remade with the same cast and crew.

Kurangu Bommai starring Vidharth and veteran director Bharathiraja opened to good reviews, receiving a lot of praise from critics for Nithilan’s treatment of the story. It also had a solid supporting cast comsprising Elango Kumaravel, Delna Davis and producer T.L.Thenappan. The film has music by Ajaneesh Lokanath of Ulidavaru Kandanthe fame and was produced by Shreyasree Movies LLP. Notably, Kurangu Bommai is Nithilan’s first movie. The young director had stepped into the limelight by winning the short film contest ‘Nalaya Iyakunar’ aired on a popular television channel.
