Telugu actor Ram Charan Teja’s new film Dhruva has struck gold at the US box office as the film has collected more than Bollywood’s much-anticipated film Befikre. The aggressive promotions of the Dhruva team have seemingly fetched the desired results. Ram Charan and Arvind Swamy along with other core members of the crew went to the US on Thursday for Dhruva premiere. The main star cast has been touring across the US and meeting the fans as part of the film’s post-release promotional activities.
The film has raked in $1 million in its opening weekend at the US box office, which is twice the amount of Befikre that earned $500,000, according to a tweet by industry tracker Ramesh Bala.
Dec 9th – 11th Weekend #USA BO:

In a statement, Ram Charan thanked the audience for making Dhruva a big commercial success. “Having a great time touring in USA with my Dhruva team. Meeting the audience here was a long over due and I am happy to be able to finally do it,” he said.
“Will be back home to celebrate the success with the rest of you. Thank you for the great things being said about Dhruva,” the actor added.
The remake of Tamil hit film Thani Oruvan was released in India on Friday mostly to positive response from the media and fans. The film also marks the comeback of yesteryear heartthrob Arvind in Telugu, who has played the main antagonist in the cop film. Director SS Rajamouli was the latest to praise the film.
“A big Ty to the Telugu audience for welcoming me, appreciating my work and making #Dhruva a blockbuster. Ty for the love(sic),” Arvind posted on Twitter.
The team also made a video thanking Tamil director Mohan Raja, who wrote and helmed Thani Orvan with his brother Jayam Ravi in the lead role.

The makers are yet to release the domestic box office numbers. The PR for Dhruva film, Vamsi Kaka said that the film had an excellent opening weekend and was going strong at the box office on Monday due to advance booking even as he refrained from revealing the numbers. “#Dhruva had an extraordinary weekend at the box-office. Monday bookings are super strong,” he tweeted.
