Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas celebrated his 26th birthday on Thursday with some of the biggest names in Telugu cinema. In an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, the actor discussed his career choices and his upcoming film with director Teja.
Q. Is there any reason why you seem to only prefer action films?
I have been only getting the action based scripts, may be due to my physique. I feel that action sequences are challenging and only a few actors are doing such films in Tollywood. I feel blessed and grateful for getting such movies.
Q. How do you react to reviews criticising your acting?
It’s not like that. I have always been appreciated by critics for improving my acting performance. I am just five films old and it will take time for me to improve. I signed my film with director Teja as a challenge to prove myself as an actor. I am sure that this film will answer the question.
Q. Your previous film Kavacham did not perform well at the box office. What did you learn from it?
We should have been more careful with Kavacham script. I feel that people will accept commercial films when we present them in new ways.
Q. What’s the difference you find while working with senior and debutant directors?
In fact, I learned a lot of things from all of them. There is a lot of clarity working with new directors. And you get an opportunity to gain knowledge in different aspects of filmmaking.

Q. What are your upcoming projects?
I am currently in talks with director Ajay Bhupathi of RX 100 fame. And I have signed a couple of other films and we will make their announcements soon.
