To commemorate the occasion of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan and Harshdeep Kaur will grace The Kapil Sharma Show tonight. The trio will enthrall the audience with their performances and also share fun anecdotes about themselves. Harshdeep will also launch her composition- Shabad kirtan ‘Guru Nanak Aaye Ne’ on the show.
Shankar Mahadevan creates tunes in the shower
Kapil Sharma will quiz Shankar Mahadevan about a rumour that he created the title tune of Dil Chahta Hai while brushing his teeth in the morning. Agreeing to the same, Mahadevan will add that the other songs in the film were also his under-shower creations. For the musician, being in solitude in the morning always helps him in finding new tunes. He will then go to sing popular numbers from the film and entertain the audience.
Harshdeep Kaur’s romantic love story
For the first time, Harshdeep Kaur will open up about her love story. She will share that Mankeet Singh is her childhood friend and they have even studied in the same class. But their love story only bloomed once he moved to Mumbai for higher studies. Harshdeep will share that they met again in Mumbai, and since they had no other friends, they started spending time with each other. She will add that they didn’t even understand when their friendship turned into love.
Shankar’s passion for cooking
Talking about his other passion, Shankar Mahadevan will share that he loves cooking. He will say that his wife believes that he is actually more passionate about food than music. Mahadevan will add that for him, cooking is also an art and he loves stirring up delicacies for his family.
How Shaan and Radhika fell in love
In a candid conversation, Shaan will share that he has known Radhika from childhood. The two were part of the same group and once Radhika thought she was being eve-teased by someone who was singing songs to her. She further misunderstood him to be Shaan, and they got into a confrontation. Shaan will add that it was the most beautiful mistake of their life.
Shankar’s love for his audience
Shankar Mahadevan and Shaan will go on to share some fun stories where the two were denied payment for their performances. While Shaan will reveal that once the organiser faked his death to avoid paying him, Shankar too will share a rather startling incident. The payment was being delayed multiple times, and just before his act, the organiser told him that they cannot pay him, citing no money. Although agitated, Shankar performed as he did not want the audience to be disappointed. He will add that he is what he is only because of his fans, and he couldn’t let them down.
