Maharashtra’s Ditya Bhande has been announced as the winner of Sony TV’s dance reality show for kids, Super Dancer. The nine-year-old beat four other finalists Dipali, Masoom, Laxman and Yogesh to clinch the trophy at the grand finale of the show, which ended its first edition on Saturday night. Ditya, who hails from Nalasopara, has mesmerised the judges, Shilpa Shetty, Anurag Basu and Geeta Kapoor, with some brilliant performances and acts.

An excited Ditya said post her win, “This is the best moment of my life. I am really happy and excited to bag the prestigious title of nation’s first Super Dancer. With the mentoring of my choreographer Ruel and the encouragement received from everyone, I am thankful to Super Dancer and Sony Entertainment Television. I am going to miss the training, Ruel sir, my friends, Shilpa ma’am, Geeta Maa, Anurag sir and everyone associated with the show.”

Also present at the finale were actors Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, who promoted their upcoming romance Ok Jaanu on the show. The stars along with the show’s judges gave away Ditya the trophy. The winner also took home the grand prize money of Rs 15 lakh, a smart phone and a gift hamper worth Rs 1 lakh from Patanjali.

Delighted over Ditya’s win, Shilpa said that she is happy the kid’s hard work and determination paid off. The actor also said that she will miss all the children on the show, with whom she has developed a special bond.

I wish them all the very best for a great life that they will make for themselves hence on,” Shilpa said in a statement. As astonishing as it may sound, the talented dancer — who is trained in hip-hop — runs her own institute where she teaches dance to children of her age.
