Sunil Grover is returning to the small screen with Star Plus show Kanpur Wale Khuranas. While the makers announced the show a few days ago, its first look was shared by Sunil on Wednesday.

Sharing a photo from the set, Sunil wrote, “Namaste from ‘Kanpur wale Khuranas’. They all are hoping to bring a smile on your face. Soon on Star plus. ❤️.” The photo featured Ali Asgar, Sugandha Mishra and Upasana Singh who have earlier worked with Sunil in Kapil Sharma’s comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show and Comedy Nights With Kapil.

Along with Sunil, the show also marks the television debut of Bollywood actor Kunal Kemmu who has been a part of comedy films like Golmaal Again, Dhol and Golmaal 3 among others. He will be seen playing the role of Sunil’s brother-in-law. Kunal also posted the photo of the cast of Kanpur Wale Khuaranas and captioned it, “Hello! From the Kanpur wale Khurana’s mulakat jald hi hogi🕺#starplus #kanpurwalekhuranas.”

Revealing a bit about the comedy show, a source told indianexpress.com, “The show will be a unique concept that will showcase the highlights of the year (2018). While Kunal will host the achievers of the year, Sunil, who plays his jija (brother-in-law) will entertain the audience with gags. Adaa Khan will play Sunil’s wife in the show. Ali, Upasana and Sugandha will also be part of their crazy family. The team has already started shooting and it will go on air sometime in December.”

While the photo has left Sunil’s fans excited about his return to television, those who have been waiting for the actor-comedian to reunite with Kapil Sharma are left disappointed. Sunil and Kapil chose separate ways after they had a fight during their Australia tour for The Kapil Sharma Show.

Talking about his new project, Pataakha actor Sunil told PTI, “I am happy to be back on the small screen with a fresh concept. This character is unlike any I’ve played before and I am very excited to embark on this journey of entertaining my viewers. The show is sure to charm everyone alike with a theme that resonates with the viewers and keep them hooked onto their television screens at night.”
