Throughout his stay in the Bigg Boss house, Amaal Mallik often found himself at the centre of disagreements, conflicts and allegations, some even linked to his lineage as part of a well-known family of musicians, which prompted fellow contestants to question him on nepotism. At times, he also drew criticism for threatening co-contestants during tasks or heated arguments. Ahead of the finale, during a press conference inside the house, Amaal had addressed his behaviour openly. Speaking to SCREEN, he explained that his confrontational nature isn’t new and comes from a place of personal conviction.

“I would have threatened someone outside also if they poked me; it didn’t matter how big or small that person was, I would give it back. I even told my family to cut off ties with me because I am the way I am. I told them that if they felt my words or actions were damaging to my parents or my brother Armaan, I would make that decision too. Outside, I am called the Kabir Singh of music. If you Google my name, before Amaal Mallik’s music, Amaal Mallik’s controversy will appear. I have taken a stand against everything. This is how I am, I follow my heart, if people like me or not, it’s their perspective, eventually, the audience is the king.”
