Actress Shilpa Shirodkar, who was last seen on TV in soap opera “Ek Mutthi Aasmaan”, is returning to the small screen with a new show titled “Saajan”. She says her role in the show, about a “mother-son relationship”, motivated her to say yes to the makers.

“Saajan”, which will be aired on Star Plus starting mid-December, is about an over possessive mother Janki (Shilpa), who believes that her son Raunak (Abhay Vakil) belongs only to her and she deserves all the attention and affection from him. This possessiveness becomes so strong that she cannot stand anyone who comes between her son and her.

“The character of Janki Tiwari really motivated me to take up the show. ‘Saajan’ will show the aspects of a mother-son relationship which will connect with masses at large,” Shilpa said in a statement.

“In my previous show, I was playing a maid and in this show, I will be hiring maids and servants. My character is very affluent in her lifestyle, while the character that I played previously was of a strong woman.
