Jeet Adani steps in with Rs 1 crore offer after Srikanth Bolla grills Shark Tank India founders for absurd valuation
Shark Tank India 4 concluded with a special episode featuring differently abled founders, or founders pitching services that support the differently abled.

Two founders pitched their cinema-related business on the season four finale of Shark Tank India. Their company, XL Cinema, provides descriptive audio for films and web series, aimed at providing accessibility for people with visual impairment. The episode featured Srikanth Bolla as a guest ‘shark’, with Jeet Adani also present behind-the-scenes. The founders said that they provided descriptive audio for the biopic Srikanth as well. They asked for Rs 1.5 crore in exchange of 1.5% equity in the company, valuing it at Rs 100 crore. This valuation struck several of the ‘sharks’ as unjustified, as the company was doing revenue of only around Rs 65 lakh.
The founders said that they charge production houses Rs 4 lakh per project, and that their turnaround time is 30 hours. Others in the market usually take a week. They said that they are able to do this by setting up a streamlined workflow that employs AI. Anupam Mittal was pleased with the processes, but found the valuation to be too high. He backed out of the deal, as did Aman Gupta, who said that the market would soon be flooded with competitors offering even cheaper prices. Namita Thapar agreed, and said that some production houses might not even agree to pay the Rs 4 lakh price.

Srikanth was the harshest in his feedback. He asked the founders how they plan on scaling the business, and they told him that the government has introduced a rule where every film released in theatres needs to have descriptive audio beginning from March 2026. “Nobody’s implementing plastic ban either. There is a big difference between a rule being introduced and a rule being implemented,” Srikanth said, but the founders argued that they have the CBFC playing the gatekeeper in this case, and that they will have to impose these rules on producers.
Srikanth said that rules can change depending on the government in charge. “I don’t need a visual description either, because I can calculate your height based on where your voice is coming from. But mine is an exceptional case. Let’s forget it for a moment, because I agree that you’re solving a big problem… New vendors could crop up. There is no chance for growth,” he said, backing out as well. After the pitch, the founders sat down for a discussion with Adani, who offered them Rs 1 crore in two tranches, turning the pitch around.
