Shark Tank India isn’t just about entrepreneurs pitching their ideas to a panel of investors (sharks) and awaiting funding decisions, but also a platform that witnesses intense and high-stakes drama, often outshining other reality shows. With the fourth season on the horizon, the makers have been releasing teasers back-to-back, offering glimpses of what to expect and each promo suggests that previous ones were merely a hint of the excitement yet to come.
In one of the teasers, the makers revealed that this season will also feature contestants presenting products that directly compete with the sharks’ own brands. For instance, an upcoming episode of Shark Tank India Season 4, premiering on January 6, spotlights the founders of Sonic Lamb Headphones as they pitch their product while Aman Gupta, co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of electronics brand boAt Lifestyle, sits among the panel of ‘sharks’. During their presentation, the Sonic Lamb team boldly claims their headphones are better than boAt’s, a statement that visibly displeases Gupta.
“Sonic Lamb offers headphones that let you feel the music,” states Navajith, the company’s co-founder. During the pitch, as Navajith and co-founder Jagath present their case, Emcure Pharmaceuticals’ executive director Namita Thapar asks, “Are you saying you can do way better than boAt?” The teaser then shows Gupta reacting with a sarcastic nod. Navajith elaborates, “The difference (between Sonic Lamb and boAt) is in the audio quality and experience.”
Anupam Mittal, founder and CEO of Shaadi.com and People Group, then asks, “You are taking them (boAt) head on thinking that ‘we are better than you at the same price point’?” The Sonic Lamb founders affirm with confidence, eliciting another sarcastic reaction from Gupta. “Sonic Lamb makes you Feeeeelll the music! But will the Sharks feel the same way?” the description of the teaser reads.
