Bigg Boss 19 is all set to premiere on 30th August, and the buzz around the show has also been gaining momentum. A few days back, SCREEN had exclusively reported that this would be the longest season of the show. Now, another update is around host Salman Khan‘s salary for this season.

As per a source, Salman Khan’s rumoured fees for this season is approximately between Rs 120-150 crores. The actor will be hosting for 15 weeks in total and will be paid around Rs 8 to 10 crores per weekend. The source explained that since the show will primarily stream on OTT with a repeat telecast on TV the same day, it’s being treated as an extension of the OTT version. According to multiple sources, Bigg Boss 19 is not mounted on a big budget as compared to previous seasons.

Salman, who had hosted Bigg Boss OTT 2, had reportedly charged Rs 96 crores back then. His fee for Bigg Boss 18 was reportedly Rs 250 crores, while on Bigg Boss 17 it was Rs 200 crores, both of which were for TV. This time, since there are other hosts too, Salman’s fee for this version is more than what he drew during the previous OTT season.

As informed earlier, the latest season will be a digital-first property, and while it will be called Bigg Boss 19, makers are planning to attach a tagline to it that also does justice to the show’s digital version. Earlier this week, the social media account of Bigg Boss Taza Khabar had informed that Salman Khan shot for the show’s promo on Monday, 21st July, from 2 pm till midnight. The promo shot has been designed around the theme of politics.

Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor might host the show in the last two months. Bigg Boss 19 is said to premiere on Jio Hotstar from 30th August. This year, it will be a digital-first property where the fresh episodes will drop on OTT first, and after one and a half hours, it will appear on Colors TV.
