The audience had seen it coming. With no participation in the game and not even any presence in the episodes, Sabyasachi Satpathy and Mehjabi Siddiqui were ousted from Bigg Boss 11 in Sunday’s episode. With host Salman Khan surprising housemates with a double eviction, these two, who entered the show as padosis were left quite disappointed. Sabyasachi though upset, in an exclusive tete-a-tete with told indianexpress.com said, “It’s really sad but I have to move on. My experience and maturity has taught me to take such things in stride and look ahead with a smile. I was like a river in the Bigg Boss house that flowed freely around, sadly, it’s route had to be cut short.”
When asked what went against him in the show, the acclaimed dancer and cook said, “Firstly, I am not someone who can indulge in petty and deliberate fights. I have my own stand on things I believe but unlike others, I couldn’t stoop down and get into arguments for the sake of footage. Yes this made me not visible among masses but then that’s just not me. That can get you short-term popularity, but I have seen previous seasons, and in the long run, only the one with a balanced personality survive. Sadly, it just didn’t work for me.”
Shaggy, as he is fondly called was part of the padosi group along with Luv Tyagi, Mehjabi Siddiqui and Lucinda Nicholas. Sabyasachi shared that this spoiled the game for him, “We did not get a chance to be introduced on the stage nor meet Salman Khan at the launch. And then just the four of us were pushed into another house. Also when we moved into the main house, bonds and relationships had already been formed, and we became the outsiders. We also lost the secret task assigned to us and I started blaming myself for that. All these kind of left a bad impact on me and it affected my game a lot. I really feel that I would have been better if I was in the game like a normal contestant.”
He further added, “Though I regret the fact that neither I nor any of the padosis realised that we were the theme of this season. We could have stuck together and played our game smartly. We let go of our powers and disappeared in the game. Also, my friends tell me that I am a drama queen but I couldn’t showcase any of my spunk and charm in the house. I am a person who believes in doing good and I couldn’t change myself for a game.”
During a task recently, Sabyasachi revealed that he was ready to go through a sex change surgery for his partner. While the host and guests commended his secret, they did wonder if it could cause a repercussion in his life. When we shared the same with him, he smiled to say, “That would be the perspective of an individual. I have been honest with my life and I have no shame in that. I think people like me for that. Even in the house, I was friendly with everyone, though many thought I was putting up an act, it was the real me.”
Naming his favourites, Sabyasachi shared, “For me there are five contestants who are really playing the game well. They are Vikas Gupta, Akash Dadlani, Shilpa Shinde, Hiten Tejwani and Arshi Khan. I think one among them would take home the trophy.” He concluded saying, “I think Benafsha Soonwala and Luv Tyagi are in the house without a cause. Benafsha would have long gone but Hina Khan and Priyank Sharma’s game plans have kept her alive in the show. Her growing closeness with Priyank has also come as a boon for her. But I think it’s time that the they wake up and smell the coffee. The audience won’t get fooled so easily.”
Dada, as he was nicknamed, now awaits to do some interesting projects and with a smile shared that he wouldn’t mind hosting a cookery show.
