Raftaar thinks The Kapil Sharma Show is just ‘shoshebaazi’, says, ‘People don’t have bank balance but think they are big…’
Rapper-singer Raftaar, in a new video, said that people who come as guests on The Kapil Sharma Show only pretend to be popular.

Raftaar claimed that the show is nothing but a platform where people can ‘show off’ and pretend to be more popular than they are. Raftaar himself has also been featured as a guest on The Kapil Sharma Show, along with rapper-singer Badshah, Raja Kumari and Dino James.
Raftaar recently appeared on YouTuber Dank Rishu’s live stream, where he roasted many celebrities, including Honey Singh. In one part of the stream, he talked about The Kapil Sharma Show. The portion has been widely shared on social media. In it, the rapper said, “Basically, kya hota hai, dekh humne kaam kar liya, wahan jaakar yeh dikhana hota hai ke hum bahut bade hai (Basically what happens is this, we do the work, but when we go there, we have to show that we are big people).”
Describing the show as just a medium through which people can earn a ‘reputation in public’, Raftaar added, “Shoshebaazi hai, junta ke saamne izzat ban jaati hai, bahut bade lagte hai, ghar pe jab maa baap dekhte hai, woh kehte hai ‘Woh The Kapil Sharma Show pe aaya tha,’ gali-kooche mein hawa ban jaati hai warna uska real-world value kuch nahi hai (It’s all show-off. It helps build a reputation in front of the public, you look big, even when parents watch it, they feel proud that you’ve appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show. People start to talk about it though that person has no real value otherwise).”
Raftaar also said that people who come on the show haven’t really achieved anything, yet they behave as if they are very big. “People think they have achieved something in life if they appear on The Kapil Sharma Show but they have nothing in their bank accounts,” the rapper said.
The portion of the video where Raftaar spoke against Kapil’s show has now been deleted from the live stream. The Kapil Sharma Show airs on Sony TV over the weekends. Recently, it was reported that the show will go off air in June and will return after a break with some changes.
