Expect the unexpected wherever Ekta Kapoor is involved. Among Indian television industry’s most successful producers, Kapoor enjoys the reputation of breaking the convention with whatever show she makes. Be it bringing characters back from the dead in a daily soap or a show on vampires, she believes in surprising her audience.

This time, Kapoor has decided to overhaul Star’s popular dance reality show Nach Baliye. Having taken on as its new producer, she has altered the format of the show that will screen its seventh season soon. Originally, Nach Baliye revolves around 10 real-life celebrity couples who train and compete on camera. But Kapoor has decided to add a Bigg Boss twist to this tale by taking it off-site. Although her plan to shoot abroad or in Goa didn’t work out, Kapoor has decided that a resort in Madh will become home to all the participating couples.

Although the boys and girls will live in separate areas of the resort, they will come together to rehearse where she expects sparks to fly between the couples as well as competitors. In addition, these couples won’t only be attempting to outdo one another through their dance skills but will also be handed tasks to oust the other and gain points.

While the search for participants is on, author Chetan Bhagat has confirmed his spot as one of the three judges on the show.
