Munawar Faruqui just had Rs 700 when he urgently needed money for son’s treatment: ‘Swallowed my pride, travelled to Mumbai Central’

Bigg Boss 17 fame and comedian Munawar Faruqui recently shared an emotional story about his son’s battle with a rare disease called Kawasaki. Munawar revealed that his son was just one and a half years old when he was diagnosed with the disease, which can cause inflammation of the blood vessels and damage to the heart. Recalling the challenging time, Munawar shared that the diagnosis came with many expenses. His son required injections which costed Rs 25,000 each but Munawar had barely Rs 700 in his pocket.

“I was completely caught off guard, and it was a really tough moment for me,” Munawar said, describing the feeling of being frozen in shock for 30-40 minutes during his conversation with Janice Sequeira on her YouTube channel. With no other option, Munawar had to rely on the kindness of others to raise funds for his son’s treatment. “I had to swallow my pride and ask for help, which was really difficult for me,” he said. Munawar managed to collect the money and return within three hours, but the experience left him feeling humble.

He also revealed how he managed to collect funds during the tough period. He said, “I travelled to Mumbai Central, collected the money, and returned within three hours. While I was relieved, I couldn’t smile because it wasn’t my money,” he said and then added, “After that day, I made sure I’d never be insufficient financially again.”

Munawar, who recently tied the knot with Mehzabeen Coatwala, has been open about his personal life, including his six-year-old son Mikael from his previous marriage to Jasmine. The comedian first spoke about his son on Kangana Ranaut’s TV reality show Lock Upp and often shares pictures with him on social media.
