Television actress Shikha Singh, known for her role of Alia in the hit TV show Kumkum Bhagya is soon to get hitched. After Sanaya Irani, Disha Vakani it is her turn to enter the marital bliss with her long time boyfriend and pilot by profession Karan.
The actress was first seen as Cadet Akriti Bhatt in Left Right Left. Since then there has been no stopping for her as she has bee a part of hit shows including Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan, Na Aana Is Des Laado and many more.
In an exclusive interview with IndianExpress.com, the actress shared her marriage and career plans. The actress, who has always given her best on screen, will pursue her career even post marriage.

When are you planning to get married?
Shikha: Anytime before monsoon itself. Looking at this summer itself, in the first half of the year. we are still looking for a date.
Ques: What about your shows, will you continue working or bid goodbye to TV?
Shikha: Absolutely! I ain’t leaving any show. I will continue acting. I’ll be taking a small break obviously for the wedding, but I will be back on the show as soon as possible.
Ques: There are people in the industry, who choose partners from within the industry and you have chosen an outside. Will it be easy for you to adjust later with each other post marriage?
Shikha: I think, not really, because it depends on how your partner is. Thankfully Karan is a very understanding partner and he understands the working of my industry because somewhere he also belongs to an industry where the working hours and working hours are very erratic. So, he understands that point and till the time it is for work, I don’t think any person will have any problem. As per the same industry thing is there ‘ghar mein ek hi nautanki kaafi hai.’

Ques: We have seen you play negative roles on screen. Should we be looking forward to seeing you play positive characters?
Shikha: No ya, there is no fun in playing positive roles. Negative roles are more fun and there is much more to do in that. We as a person are already very much positive in our real lives, so there is no challenge when you act positive on screen. But when you are positive and you act negative, that’s a challenge. You’ve got to do something that you never do. That kind of pushes you as an actor and that is what I prefer as an actor. For me positive is too boring.
Ques: Have you signed any other projects?
Shikha: I am currently doing BPL which is keeping me busy other than Kumkum Bhagya. Other that that I have no time. Trust me.
