Contestant Jasnil Kumar, a store manager from the small town of Anwak in Azamgarh, UP, took home Rs 1 crore and also won a car. But he wasn’t sure about the answer to the Rs 7 crore jackpot question, and thus quit the show.

Leena Gade, a person of Indian origin, is the first female race engineer to win which of the following races?
A. Indianapolis 500
B. 24 Hours of Le Mans
C. 12 Hours of Sebring
D. Monaco Grand Prix
After quitting, Jasnil chose option B, which was the right answer.
In an interview with indianexpress.com, Jasnil shared that he always aimed at winning big and creating history. While he’d been preparing for years, he also said that the jacket that Amitabh gave him on the show proved to be a lucky charm for him.
“When I was on the hot seat, I was initially a little nervous but as I started giving the right answers, I got confident. For years, I have dreamt of this day where my name is announced as the crorepati. I have visualised this scene in my head so many times. Honestly, I also prepared well to ensure that I win big and hence I was confident. It has been a long journey for me to reach there, and it is almost like a tapasya for me,” Jasnil Kumar shared.
The long-running quiz game show airs on weekdays at 9 pm.
