Star Plus’ Ikyavan has been winning hearts with its different concept and some amazing performances. The lead of the show Prachi Tehlan, has already impressed masses with her character Susheel. Standing tall at around 6 feet, the actor has been a national level basketball and netball player, before entering the television industry with Diya Aur Baati Hum. After doing a few Punjabi films, Prachi has made a strong comeback with Ikyavan, where she is seen playing a girl, who has been brought up by only men in her family, leading to manly mannerism in her. In an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, Prachi shared a few anecdotes from her life surrounding her height.

When asked if she ever faced a hilarious incident owing to her height, the actor smiled to share, “Marriage proposals started coming for me when I was just in the 10th standard as I looked older. There was this guy in America, who was shorter than me and he wanted to marry me so that he has tall kids. It was so funny and unbelievable.”

Sharing some advantages of being tall, Prachi said, “Firstly, you don’t need to do anything extraordinary or wear a lot of makeup to look different. People would notice you anyway. Secondly, the aura around your personality automatically changes. But yes, only if you can carry your height with grace. Lastly, you get an added advantage if you want to play any kind of sport.”

Giving out a broad smile, she shared the disadvantages, “You get limited option when it comes to clothes. Indian brands especially do not make clothes for such tall girls. Secondly, it’s a hard time on planes and you have to request attendants for a better leg space seat. It’s impossible to travel otherwise. Lastly, you just cannot get unnoticed. At times you want to just roam around in your pajamas but you can’t as every eye on the road is on you.”

Lastly, talking about her character, she added, “I feel Susheel is an author-backed role for me. When I received the description from the casting team, I felt this was so me. My personality is not like a typical lead on television so I only go for selective roles and this looked like the perfect choice.”

Ikyavan also stars Namish Taneja in the lead role.
