The Bengali beauty, while growing up in Cooch Behar, West Bengal had millions of dreams in her deep-set eyes. As fate would have it, she bagged the lead in Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi post a generation leap. Playing Krishna Tulsi, the younger version of the righteous Tulsi (Smriti Irani), Mouni became an overnight star. Her innocence and bubbly nature found a fan following and the industry rightfully noticed the petite girl, who they knew would go on to become a superstar.
But it was only in 2011, when Mouni played the character of Parvati in Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, that people believed that she has truly arrived.
