Dipika Kakar undergoes 14-hour liver tumour surgery; husband Shoaib Ibrahim shares health update: ‘She’s in some pain, but…’

Explaining her condition to her fans, Dipika shared a note on social media on May 27, revealing that the tumour was discovered when it had already reached stage two malignancy. “As you all are aware, the last few weeks have been quite difficult for us. Walking into the hospital for a pain in the upper area of my stomach and then finding out it’s a tennis ball-sized tumour in the liver. And then finding out that the tumour is second-stage malignant (cancerous). It has been one of the most difficult times we have seen and experienced! I am all positive and determined to face this and walk out stronger, Inshallah! With my entire family by my side and all the love and prayers pouring in from all of you, I will sail through this too,” she wrote.

Known for her performances in soap operas like Sasural Simar Ka and Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, Dipika has also participated in reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8, Nach Baliye 8 and Celebrity MasterChef. She had also emerged as the winner in the Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss Season 12. After parting ways with her first husband, Dipika Kakar tied the knot with her Sasural Simar Ka co-star Shoaib Ibrahim in 2018. They have a son, Ruhaan, together.
