Bigg Boss 19: Salman Khan to be joined by these 3 hosts, show gets OTT premiere date, will run for 5 months

As Bigg Boss 19 comes closer to release, we bring you latest updates about the show, this year it will be a digital first property and the first glimpse will be out by the end of July.

Bigg Boss 19 latest update: Over the last few months, there have been too many speculations around the Salman Khan-hosted show. In May, it was announced that a new season of Bigg Boss will indeed happen this year; however, a lot has changed around the show this time. Now, SCREEN has some new updates around the show, while the show will start streaming in August this year, Salman Khan will not be the only host this time.

Bigg Boss 19 premiere date, show to be digital-first

While it has been reported that this will be the longest season of Bigg Boss, it will go on for five months. A source reveals that the show will go live on the last weekend of August, which is 29th and 30th August. The source also added, “The makers are making this season as a digital-first property. This means the show will run simultaneously on TV and OTT; however, the fresh episodes will drop on Jio Hotstar first, and after one and a half hours, the same episode will appear on Colors TV.” It is also said that auditions for the contestants are going on, and contracts are being rolled out soon.

Bigg Boss 19 host will not only be Salman Khan

Like every year, superstar Salman Khan will kickstart the season; however, he will not be the only host this year. The source tells us that Salman’s contract for the show has only been made for three months.  “Like every year, the makers are planning to bring in different celebrities as special hosts. After Salman finishes his three-month-long stint, makers will bring in Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor to step in as hosts.” The source also mentioned that the core team is still deciding if there will be just one host after Salman or there will be multiple celebrities hosting for two weeks. However, Salman will return to host the grand finale of the season.

Bigg Boss 19 list of approached contestants

A lot of names have been doing the rounds as contestants for Bigg Boss 19. So far, more than 20 celebrities and influencers have been approached for the show. And this season will also have around 15 contestants joining at first, and three to five wild card entries. Recently, two new names that have been added to the show’s tentative contestant list have been of actress Lataa Saberwal and Ashish Vidyarthi. Other than them, Ram Kapoor, Gautami Kapoor, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Alisha Panwar, Munmun Dutta, Anita Hassanandani, Khushi Dubey, Gaurav Taneja, Apoorva Mukhija, Chinki Minki, Purav Jha, Krishna Shroff, Mr Faisu, Kanika Mann, Raj Kundra, Daisy Shah, Arshifa Khan, Tanushree Dutta, Sharad Malhotra, Mamta Kulkarni, Paras Kalnawat, and Mickey Makover are also said to be approached for the show.

The new season’s official announcement and first look will happen by the end of this month.
