The growing drama among contestants of Bigg Boss 13 has made Colors give the show an extension. The finale, that was earlier supposed to happen on January 12, will most likely take place on February 16. While this might come as great news to fans, the catch is that Salman Khan might exit the show, as his dates are blocked for Radhe.
Shared a source with indianexpress.com, “The audience has finally gotten hooked to the season and its contestants. And with so many housemates locked in at the moment, it wouldn’t have been logical to end it in a few weeks. The makers are trying to negotiate with Salman for the dates, which he had already given for the Prabhudheva film. If he indeed opts out, Farah Khan will most likely take charge.”
This is not the first time that Bigg Boss has gotten an extension. The eighth season was also extended for a month as Bigg Boss Halla Bol where the top five competed with five ex-contestants. Salman had then bid adieu to the show because of his Bajrangi Bhaijaan schedule and it was Farah who had played the host in his absence.
The latest season of Bigg Boss launched in September with thirteen celebrities and a new twist of mid-season finale. While the makers failed to keep their promise of having a fast-paced season, the show definitely managed to gain momentum after the wild cards entered the show post the mid-season finale.
With a drastic shift in equations and some blooming romances, the audience has been lapping up the content provided by the contestants. The show has also been garnering high ratings in recent weeks. Most of the audience prefer watching only Salman Khan’s weekend episodes rather than the regular ones. Only time will tell whether his exit will affect ratings.
Earlier, at the launch of Bigg Boss 13, indianexpress.com had asked Salman if he ever thought he would last for so long in the show. The star had then shared, “Frankly no. Every year I feel like dipping out and that it’s enough now. It’s been so long, it’s my tenth year. Sometimes it’s been a damn good journey. But a couple of contestants sometimes mess things up. More than anything the sad part is that they mess up their lives. But so far, every time we think that we are pushing it too much, or it’s not going to work, the next season happens again. The format has worked for Colors and all of us or else, it wouldn’t have been still around.”
When another journalist asked Salman how he manages to make time for Bigg Boss while he juggles his movie shoots, he said, “It does get tough. I have to spend close to an hour every day to watch the show. Even when I am shooting and don’t get the time, I have to at some point watch it before I step on the stage on the Weekend Ka Vaar to interact with the housemates.”
