Shefali Bagga Shefali Bagga is out of Bigg Boss 13.

On Saturday, host Salman Khan evicted Shefali Bagga, Rashami Desai and Devoleena Bhattacharjee from Bigg Boss 13. The elimination came during the mid-season finale when six contestants moved to the next level, while six new housemates joined them as wild cards.

While the makers have hinted at a new twist, Shefali Bagga is out of the show, and on her way back home. Before flying off to Delhi, Shefali interacted exclusively with indianexpress.com and opened up about her Bigg Boss 13 eviction. She shared, “I was not expecting to exit the show at this point. I really think I was playing a good game, and I deserved to stay in the show for some more time. But these things do happen, and I will move ahead in a positive way.”

Salman Khan made his displeasure quite clear over Mahira Sharma getting safe after the Ticket to Finale task. He also commended Shefali for trying to draw the game so that every girl got a fair chance. The news anchor stated that she did not find support in co-contestants Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Rashami Desai and so couldn’t carry out her plans.

Shefali Bagga shared, “I think they were trying to play safe and support their friends. But this was a personal task. I think it was too late when they realised it. Paras had made it clear that he would give immunity to Mahira. So we should have played an individual game. After all, only one will win the title and not a group.”

Talking about her journey, the evicted contestant shared, “It was a very amazing experience. I will miss everything about the show. Bigg Boss’ voice and the cameras following us everywhere. While sometimes it would get irritating, I love being on camera, so it was fun. And anyway, who doesn’t like all the attention. I will continue to watch the show as I am now quite attached to the season.”

The most impactful moment in Shefali Bagga’s journey definitely includes her dirty fight with Shehnaaz Gill. When asked if that led to her downfall in the show, the news anchor said, “Maybe. I really felt that I was being projected as the villain in the fight. What I did and said was not with the intention to hurt anyone. It was a reaction to something that was said to me. I never thought that it could have such a bad impact. But the moment I realised it, I apologised for my action.”

While Shefali faced the wrath of the audience and host, Shehnaaz was let off easily. On quizzed whether she thought Salman was unfair to her, she said, “I wouldn’t say that but yes, I felt Shehnaaz was equally at fault. Just because she abused and that got beeped out, nobody got to know what she said. But she used a very derogatory word for my character and what I said was a reaction to that. I believe that two wrong can never make a right. So while I was pulled up, she too should have been corrected.”

This season the makers have put a lot of importance on building connections, especially between the two sexes. Sharing that it came as a shocker to her, Shefali Bagga said, “Initially, it was very weird. Why will our survival be dependent on others and even our nominations? Of course, the house is such that you have to build connections, that’s the way to survive. But to be told to make a connection and that too with boys was a little shocking. I always felt that the power to keep or evict any contestant should be on the public and not anyone else.”

The only connection that she formed in the show was with writer Siddhartha Dey. While the two maintained it was pure friendship, many questioned their bond as a survival strategy. Clarifying her stand, the 25-year-old shared, “There are other connections in the house too. Be it Sidharth Shukla and Asim Riaz or Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Rashami Desai. But no one questions their relationship. We gelled well and enjoyed each other’s company. We are great friends and will stay in touch even after the show.”

When asked if she wants to go back to her job as a news anchor or try her luck in the entertainment industry, she said, “I am a journalist by heart, so that will always be a special place for me. But I would definitely like to explore what lies ahead in this sector too.”
