Amaal Mallik says family can ‘cut him off’ if his words are ‘damaging’: ‘I am the Kabir Singh of music’
During the press conference of Bigg Boss 19, music composer Amaal Mallik said that he often follows his heart and his reactions tend to offend people in the real world. 'Amaal Mallik controversies get priority over Amaal Mallik's music on Google,' he said.
Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 19 is heading towards its grand finale. And the contestants kick-started the finale week with an intense press conference. During the press conference, music composer Amaal Mallik faced some tough questions. While he was asked about calling his father Daboo Mallik a failure on national television, he also defended allegations of being obsessed with fellow contestant Tanya Mittal. Amaal was also asked about his impulsive nature, which often led him to threaten people on the show. Defending his stance to SCREEN, the musician spoke about his nature and said he often follows his heart.
Amaal – aap amaal mallik search kroge to music se phle controversy aayega kyuki Banda har cheez pe khada rha hai 😭🔥
At the premiere of Bigg Boss 19, Amaal Mallik had told host Salman Khan that he is misunderstood. He had further added that he wanted to show his real self to the audience and also work on himself on the show. However, on several instances, Amaal often resorted to threatening his fellow contestants, whether during tasks or during arguments. When asked if this was Amaal’s real side and if the audience would applaud his overconfidence, the Bigg Boss 19 contestant said, “You do end up reacting a certain way in the heat of the moment in this house, but in real life, Amaal Mallik is also like this.”
Amaal further added, “I would have threatened someone outside also if they poked me; it didn’t matter how big or small that person was, I would give it back. I even told my family to cut off ties with me because I am the way I am. I told them that if they felt my words or actions were damaging to my parents or my brother Armaan, I would make that decision too. Outside, I am called the Kabir Singh of music. If you Google my name, before Amaal Mallik’s music, Amaal Mallik’s controversy will appear. I have taken a stand against everything. This is how I am, I follow my heart, if people like me or not, it’s their perspective, eventually, the audience is the king.”
At the press conference, Amaal was also asked to justify calling his father Daboo Malik a failure on national television. Defending his remark, the music composer said, “There is no harm in being a failure; had my father not failed, I wouldn’t have had the hunger and passion to succeed. Due to our family name, people have a perception that we get things ready on a platter. I wanted to prove that it wasn’t the case.”

Amaal is answering them so gracefully 👏🏻🥹 !!

While on the show, Amaal’s friendship with Tanya Mittal was frequently discussed. However, after their bond was severed on the show, their rivalry also seemed pretty intense. When Amaal was asked if he was obsessed with Tanya, he said, “I am already famous as a name, and we all try to stay away from each other. On humanitarian grounds, I spoke to her. Farrhana had told me that I looked obsessed with Tanya, but I am not the kind of person who immediately cuts off from people, whether it’s a friend or an enemy. I keep poking until the world gets to see the truth. I have stopped doing that now. And I am not obsessed with Tanya.”
Bigg Boss 19 grand finale is set to take place on 7th December, and it will stream at 9 pm on Jio Hotstar.
