Controversies go hand-in-hand with fame for some celebrities. Young star Aditya Narayan, who has had a celebrated childhood being the son of award-winning singer Udit Narayan, has been under the scanner owing to a recent ugly incident. Aditya, while travelling from Raipur, had a major argument with one of the airport staff and in a fit of anger, he went on to abuse him, to the point that he threatened the staff. The video of Aditya’s infamous spat went viral where he is telling the airline employee, ‘Teri chaddi nahi utari na, to mera naam Aditya Narayan nahi.’ While the “Tattad Tattad” singer has been mum about the incident, he finally decided to share his side of the story at the launch of his new show Entertainment Ki Raat. The weekend series on Colors will see Aditya indulging in a one-of-a-kind Rap Battle, where he and a celeb will indulge in a war of words to the tunes of rap.
Opening up about the Raipur incident, Aditya in an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com shared, “I kept quiet for all this while as I did not want to prod this matter further. It was an argument between two individuals and I never shied away from accepting that I was one of them. Unluckily for me, only I was given the spotlight in the 30 seconds footage that was doing rounds in the media. I think there are few people, who want to only look at other’s flaws, and they did it very well. Thanks to them the matter got escalated but trust me it wasn’t such a major issue. I apologized to the one I had to and they did so in return and the matter pretty much should have ended there. Anyone can have arguments and it was distasteful to use only my part of the quarrel against me and my family.”
He further added, “The only thing that really made me angry was that my parents were also dragged into it. I am a grownup man and I take responsibility for my actions and here they were calling my father to apologise unnecessarily. Also, there were photographers hiding below my parents’ house and stalking them. It was really upsetting for me.”
The promos of the show have celebrities cracking joke on the incident. When we asked Aditya if he will ever be able to shrug off the episode, he smiled to say, “It has already been shrugged off. These things happen and shouldn’t be given undue importance. The best thing for me is to let it go and look forward to an exciting time ahead with Entertainment Ki Raat. These people are already superstars in their own profession and I am really kicked about this show.”

While he added that it is his first stint in comedy, Aditya is quite confident about it. “Since there’s no competition and only fun there’s no nervousness or apprehensions. Our only motto will be to entertain our audience. We all are born entertainers and as much as we will enjoy together, the viewers will also have equal fun. It’s something really different and with such an amazing ensemble cast, gear up for an unabashed entertaining experience every weekend. For me also, this was a really interesting opportunity as it’s not just another anchoring job. My fans will also get to see a different aspect to me where I will engage in a rap battle. It’s being showcased for the first time in India and we are quite confident that the audience will enjoy watching it.”
