Actor-politician Kamal Haasan unveiled the title of Vijay Antony’s next film on Thursday evening. Titled Agni Siragugal, the Tamil action thriller, helmed by Naveen of Moodar Koodam fame, also has Arun Vijay in an important role.

In a conversation with, Agni Siragugal director Naveen said, “I was thrilled to meet Kamal sir along with the crew. It was like a dream come true moment.”

“The shooting of Agni Siragugal will commence from December. The first schedule will happen in Chennai and Kolkata followed by Europe. While the first half is set in Kolkata, the story will travel to Europe in the second half,” he added.

But why a break post-Moodar Koodam? “I was working on a fantasy film, Alaudhinin Arputha Camera. In fact, nobody knew about it. I wanted to keep it that way. I shot the film in and around Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Ukraine. Once I’m done with the release related work, I’ll focus on my new project.”

Naveen is excited about bringing in a variety of talented actors on board. “Vijay Antony-Arun Vijay is an unusual combination. I had so much fun developing their characters. In particular, I liked Arun Vijay’s. His role will be more stylish than Thyagu (the actor’s role in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam). I’m not saying I’ve written a ground-breaking film, but this will make for an emotional and interesting watch,” he said.

Produced by T Siva of Amma Creations, Agni Siragugal has Shalini Pandey, Jagapathi Babu, Nasser and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. Natarajan Sankaran has been roped in as the composer.

Meanwhile, Vijay Antony has Thimiru Pudichavan up for release. Originally, it was supposed to hit screens on Diwali, but now, the makers are planning to push it to November 16. However, an official confirmation is awaited.
